Singing under the stars

In the early fall we held a singing under the stars at Mineral Wells State Park amphitheater. It had been a drizzly day, but the rain held out long enough for us to sing. It was completely dark except for the soft illumination of the glow sticks we used to light our hymnals. We did not want to detract from the lights of heaven.

Many of us camped the entire weekend. Cell phones don’t work out there except in a couple of good spots. The park supposedly has wi-fi, but it mostly doesn’t work either. It was great to disconnect. With my mind free from distraction, we sat around the fire and arranged our worship service. The songs and scriptures are tightly woven to aid in worship and edification. I am sharing it here in case others may find a use for all or part of it in your local fellowship. I am always “stealing” ideas from others for use later or in another context. May God be glorified in our lives and in our praise!
